Born into a family of storytellers, Niani Feelings found her way into storytelling through theater and dance. Growing up in Columbia, South Carolina, she trained at the pre-professional level. She furthered her training at The Boston Conservatory where she received her BFA in Musical Theater with an emphasis in devised work. It was at the Conservatory thats she also began to put emphasis on her love for choreography.
As a performer and a creative, Niani’s work has been seen on the biggest stages from New York City to regional houses around the country. In the 2024-2025 Broadway season, Niani made her choreographic debut as Assistant Choreographer for the Sutton Foster lead revival of Once Upon a Mattress, as well as her onstage debut as a swing in Pirates! The Penzance Musical lead by David Hyde Pierce, Ramin Karimloo and Jinkx Monsoon. And between the two found her way to The Kennedy Center’s Production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as their Associate Choreographer, to Paper Mill Playhouse’s production of White Christmas as the Associate Director and Arena Stage as the Associate Choreographer of Sarah Silverman’s The Bedwetter.
Niani spent the 2023-2024 season as New York City Center’s Inaugural Ann Reinking Choreography Fellow; an incredible honor. She has toured the US as the Dance Captain of the 1st National Tour of Mean Girls and been seen performing on stages such as The MUNY, Oregon Shakespeare Festival and North Shore Musical Theater.
Through it all, Niani remains a theater lover at heart who hopes to bring calm, integrity, joy and the feeling that anything is possible to every room she enters. She believes in the bright future of a theater world that leads with love, respect, kindness and play!
